Standard Three-Layer Structural Configuration
- First Layer (FBE Primer, 80–120μm): High-adhesion fusion bonded epoxy layer, tightly bonded with steel pipe substrate, featuring excellent chemical resistance and cathodic protection compatibility, isolating electrochemical corrosion fundamentally.
- Second Layer (Adhesive Copolymer, 200–250μm): Transition bonding layer, perfectly connecting epoxy primer and polyethylene outer layer, avoiding delamination and peeling, improving overall structural integrity.
- Third Layer (HDPE Outer Coating, 2.0–3.0mm): High-density polyethylene protective layer, providing mechanical shock resistance, abrasion resistance and waterproof isolation, resisting external physical damage and environmental erosion.

Objective Product Disadvantages & Scenario Limitations
- To help customers make accurate material selection and avoid engineering risks, we objectively sort out the limitations of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes based on industry application experience:
- Main Product Deficiencies
- High Temperature Resistance Limitation: The standard 3PE coating is only suitable for working temperatures below 80℃. Long-term operation in environments above 80℃ will cause polyethylene layer softening, reduced mechanical strength and accelerated aging, not applicable for high-temperature steam and superheated fluid pipelines.
- Strict Surface & Process Requirements: The coating requires strict steel pipe pretreatment (Sa 2.5 shot blasting grade) and professional production processes. Unstandardized construction will easily cause coating delamination, bubble and peeling, requiring high-level factory processing and on-site construction management.
- Poor Local Repair Performance: Once the local coating is damaged, the repair process is more complicated than single-layer coatings, and the repair part is difficult to reach the original overall structural performance, requiring careful protection during construction.
- Not Suitable for Ultra-High Abrasion Scenarios: Compared with heavy-duty FBE and cement mortar coating, 3PE outer layer has weaker abrasion resistance, not recommended for pipelines with long-term high-speed solid particle scouring.
- Recommended & Non-Recommended Application Scenarios
- Ideal Application Scenarios: Long-distance buried oil and gas transmission pipelines, municipal water supply and drainage pipelines, chemical plant buried fluid pipelines, offshore shore pipeline projects, saline-alkali and desert area buried pipelines, urban underground comprehensive pipe corridors.
- Non-Recommended Scenarios: High-temperature fluid transmission pipelines above 80℃, high-abrasion slurry transmission pipelines, ultra-shallow exposed pipelines with frequent mechanical friction, and special ultra-high temperature industrial pipeline systems.
