- Hydrostatic Test: Each length of pipe shall be hydrostatically tested without leakage through the pipe wall.
- Bend Test: OD ＜ 2 inch, a sufficient length shall be capable of being bent cold through 90° around a cylindrical mandrel (diameter = 12×OD) without cracks or weld opening
- Flattening Test: OD ≥ 2 inch
- Alternative standards: When impact toughness is required, ASTM A106 Gr.B (same strength but with impact requirements) or API 5L PSL2 (with specified impact energy criteria) can be selected.

ASTM A53 seamless pipes (Type S) are widely used in medium- and low-pressure conditions due to their lack of weld defects, medium strength, good weldability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Petroleum and Natural Gas Industry
Low-pressure oil, gas, and water transmission branch pipelines, wellhead injection pipelines, and oil well tree auxiliary pipelines.
Applicable temperature ≤60℃, pressure ≤15MPa. Not recommended for high-temperature, high-pressure main pipelines (preferably choose ASTM A106 or API 5L). - Municipal engineering and building sector
Water supply and drainage networks, main pipelines of fire sprinkler systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) steam/hot water pipelines.
Building steel structure supports, scaffold uprights, embedded pipelines for bridge bearings, and curtain wall keel supports. - Mechanical Manufacturing and the Automotive Industry
Hydraulic cylinder bodies, hydraulic system oil pipes, pneumatic transmission pipelines, machine tool structural components.
Automobile chassis suspension components, drive shaft sleeves, hydraulic pipelines for agricultural machinery. - Energy Chemical Industry and Boiler Support
Low-temperature section (≤400°C) water supply pipelines for industrial boilers, condensate recovery lines, and generator cooling system pipelines.
Transport of low-pressure, mildly corrosive media in the chemical industry (such as clean water and neutral solutions; for strong corrosives, lined pipes or stainless steel pipes are required).
