    Applicant Process

    • Surface Preparation: The steel pipe is thoroughly cleaned, often by abrasive blasting (sandblasting) to remove rust, scale, and contaminants, creating a textured surface (anchor profile) for the epoxy to grip.
    • Heating: The cleaned pipe is preheated to a specific high temperature (e.g., 180°C to 250°C or 356°F to 482°F) using induction coils or ovens, making it hot enough for the powder to melt instantly.
    • Powder Application: While rotating, the pipe is sprayed with a fine, dry epoxy powder that is electrostatically charged. The powder particles are attracted to the grounded pipe surface.
    • Fusion & Curing: The hot metal causes the powder to melt, flow, and form a liquid film that wets the surface. Heat then triggers a chemical reaction (cross-linking) in the epoxy, transforming it into a solid, hard, continuous protective layer.
    • Cooling & Inspection: The coated pipe is cooled (often via water spray) and then undergoes rigorous inspection (e.g., thickness testing, holiday detection) to ensure the coating is uniform, defect-free, and meets quality standards.
